Great hostel with lots of character and lots of services. Kind of like a cross between a hotel and a hostel, this place was a beautiful place to stay. I would even stay here with my mom.

This is a really excellent little hostel. Quiet but still within walking distance of most of the main sites in Beijing. It is also close to a metro station and there are some great restaurants nearby. The staff speak good English and are really friendly and helpful. Just a really great little place, particularly if you want a quieter hostel.

It's attractive and clean, and yes that means the bathrooms too! Breakfasts are good, and the help to arrange day trips is very valuable. We had a great driver to Jin Shan Ling for a walk on the Wall. The other guests ranged from young backpackers to not so young backpackers, all interesting to visit with!

Nice hotel, a bit unusual as every room has an entrance from outside, but that makes it special, similar to traditional Beijing dwellings. The staff is very helpful, especially Bobby, as they both help finding things and advice on the things worth doing. Great place, some 10 min walk to the metro station.

One of the best places to feel „an old China.” Located in traditional Hutong district with an easy access to all historical attractions of Bejing. (taxi to Forbidden City is max 30 Yuan; no sense to waste time on metro or bus). Run by three friendly and helpful sisters. Common room located in green atrium, which is a huge advantage in the city lacking green areas, and covered all year long with smog. Very close to traditional Chinese dumplings bar (leaving hostel turn right at the main street; within 200 meters you should see a bar on the corner of the street – best dumplings in the city) The best hostel we had encountered during our Chinese journey! And we’ve been to a few.

We loved this hostel. The location is pretty good, only a ten minute walk to the subway station. The staff are really nice an helpful- Bobby will help you book great wall tours and night shows and gives his honest opinion about all the sites. We recommend the Great wall tour to Si Ma Tai and the Kung Foo show. For lunch and dinner they can call in food from a local restaurant and it's really good. The rooms are nice and clean, though there's a slight smell from the old plumbing. The place has a lot of character and we enjoyed sitting in the courtyard or in the rec room and talking with Bobby and the other travelers.

Stayed here for 5 nights & would highly recommend it. Bobby was very helpful organising Train & flight tickets as well as tours. Commission charged was very reasonable compared with later hostels we stay in. Excellent character & atmosphere. Would strongly recommend this hostel for a stay in Beijing

Fantastic hostel, located in a quiet hutong, 20 minutes walk from the North Gate of the Forbidden City. Staff was very helpful and one of the nicest I've seen. Cleanliness was perfect. The only downside is the prices of tours, which are above those at other hostels, not a good point if you're on a budget. But apart from that, it is great. Highly recommended!

Mel, I strongly recommend this place if you want to stay in a friendly, nice and comfortable place to start enjoying Beijing..... great staff, close to subway, clean, safe.... 100% GOOOOD!

The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, to the point where they hung your washing up for you. The location was pretty cool, the only thing was that as it\'s down an alley, it\'s quite difficult to find. Very very clean.

Cherie from New Zealand stayed here on 09th June 2007
This is a superb hostel. It is such an experience to stay within and to explore the Hutong. It really is an oasis of tranquility within the hustle and bustle of Beijing. The hostel is kept so incredibly clean and this is done regularly from early morning till late evening. Bobby (who speaks fluent English) and his staff were very friendly, courteous and extremely helpful. When I had to re-organize my journey back to Hong Kong after missing the train, Bobby came to the rescue - a task that would have been a nightmare to sort out on my own....

phillipagilby8953 from Australia stayed here on 06th June 2007
This hostel was a beautiful place to stay with the rooms facing onto a quite courtyard. It was within easy walking distance of the forbidden palace and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. I would recommend this to any hostel travellors! Thank you for making our short stay so rewarding!
