A Former Grand General's Residence of Qing Dynasty
Location: Banchang Hutong, Kuanjie, Dongcheng district, Beijing. A former Grand General's residence of Qing Dynasty, located in the "Courtyard Conservation Area" inside the Hutongs. It is surrounded by historical courtyard houses, most of them were built in Yuan, Ming and Qing three dynasties (since late 13th century).
Surrounding attractions: Bell & Drum Tower, Lamasery (Yonghegong), Shichahai/Houhai, Beihai Park, Prince Gong's Residence, Former Residence of Song Qingling and ancient Hutongs - all within walking distance.

History: This three entries design courtyard house is famous for its imperial living taste of the Qing dynasty with a history of nearly 170 years. The original owner of this large private house was a Grand General Zeng Ge Lin Qin in Qing dynasty, who invested in building this typical quadrangle courtyard and living here while he carried out some top official duties, such as Defence Minister. General Zeng Ge Lin Qin played a very important role in the military history of mid 19th century China (Qing Dynasty). Original General Zeng Lin Qin's courtyard mansion was much bigger. The hotel is only a part of the property, it has one main courtyard and 4 more courtyards.
General Zeng Ge Lin Qin was famous for his valiant, natural and sincere reputation, at home and abroad. The Qing court relied on him heavily, and he became known as “the Great Wall” of the country.
As integrated part of former prince Zeng’s residence which is listed as prior antiquity under special safekeeping of the government of China in Beijing. Lu Song Yuan hotel has become the only typical accommodation where you may enjoy the fantastic taste of the imperial family of China during the Qing Dynasty.
