In Beijing, there is an unique opportunity to stay in a private home - in a traditional Beijing Hutong Courtyard House ("Siheyuan" in Chinese pronunciation) with local Chinese people. Also there is an alternative to stay in another courtyard guesthouse with centuries history. Also see our special one-off Apartment Rental Offer for 2008 Olympic Offer - 1 bedroom Studio Apartment to East of Beijing.
In central Shanghai, as well as the apartments we have the characterful Shanghai Bed and Breakfast style hotel / Guest House which is in one of the few remaining 1920s/1930s era buildings. With it's old-fashioned service and antique furniture it makes a contrast to the usual 3 or 4 star hotels, yet still offers private bathroom for every room.
We also listed some popular Chinese ancient towns (see "Ancient Towns" page). So you will also have opportunities to see and stay in those character historical courtyard style accommodation in Suzhou, Chengdu, Pingyao, Lijiang and some other picturesque ancient towns & villages in different provinces in China. We will offer more in the near future to provide more choices for you.
This is the great opportunity to experience the difference compared with package holidays or stay in the standard style hotels. And through this experience, you will get to know much more Chinese culture, customs and people's lifestyles.

Apart from the accommodation, we provide a lot of information about the city guide (see our City Guide page). Also some organised join-in tours (small groups, around 10 ~ 15 people) and private guide/transport for sightseeing (see Tours page). Hope this information can help you to explore more interesting places, absorb the local culture and tradition to the maximum with your limited time in China. Learn something that you may not be able to get from the guide book... and make your holiday more memorable.
