Huitengxile Grassland:

Why Huitengxile Grassland?

1.         Far away from major tourist site, less tourist and more space to enjoy in the grassland landscape.

2.         Huitengxile Grassland has much better grass than other grassland.

3.         However, the living standard is a little bit worse than other grassland.

The main reason for most visitors to Inner Mongolia is for a grasslands experience. There are basically three grasslands that can be visited in Hohhot, the least visited is Huitengxile, making this the most authentic, known locally as the area of 99 natural lakes.

Hohhot is well set up to accommodate this with its copious tourist facilities. On grassland, fun can still easily be had by trekking off into the rolling grasses for scenery that is pretty and remote.

Entertainments in these areas are many. You may try activities such as Mongolian wrestling, horse& camel riding, rodeo competitions, archery, visiting traditional families, and trips to the aobaos (rock mounds that are normally festooned with flags, meant for worship). In the evenings the camps provide interesting, if sometimes a little taxing, activities, including a baijiu dinner and performances of traditional dancing, singing and melodies from traditional Mongolian instruments, including the sawing charms of the horse head fiddle (Matou Qin).

Fly to huhhot in the morning, (MU5157, SH hongqiao airport, 7:15 departure, 9:50 arrival) drive to Huitengxile Grassland. On the way to the grassland, enjoy the beautiful scenery and fragrance from flowers and grass.  Check in the traditional yurt hotel, and then walk on the grassland, riding horses or laying on the grassland, enjoy in the natural beauty of vast grassland. In the evening, watch a horse-riding race and wrestling competition while we enjoy the sunset…at night, we have a nice nomad’s dinner, such as Finger Mutton, Roasted lambs, unknown natural vegetables…, grassland activities shows are arranged after dinner, such as folk music and dance.., grab a beer, join them.

Note: For children, they have to ride horse with stableman for safe purpose.

Drive to the Huanghua Valley in the morning, where is place for emperor’s to take their summer vacation in the past. Excurse into the valley, many water falls, rivers, birds singings, visit a nomad family, have a superb Mongolian style meal, after lunch, walk on the a nice and hidden trail, there are numerous windmill power generator, with blue sky, sunshine and beautiful grassland, absolutely stunning view, we also pass by several beautiful lakes, which are only for the live stocks. Back to yurt and spend time by your own.

Tubao desert, 400KM from grassland, about 4 hrs on the way. Watching sunrise in the morning and have formal breakfast. Tripe to the mysterious Resonant Sand Gorge by coach.It has 2000 years history and it is the start of the desert.  Riding camels and sliding sand.
